Jonny Miller joined the ARPAS-UK panel in the DroneX Keynote Theatre to discuss designing for scale: assurance, spectrum, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) and multiple simultaneous operations (MSO) in the UK.

“We’ve put the intelligence on the aircraft (CompanionOS), because a pilot supervising 8 aircraft can’t be the brain of each one.”

He described how CompanionOS keeps intelligence onboard, including knowing where the aircraft is allowed to fly. NAVIS builds procedure into the workflow: a flight cannot be released until every check is complete, generating compliance evidence automatically.

Looking ahead, Jonny argued for a network of small unmanned traffic management (UTM) systems working together to support advanced air mobility at scale.

Thank you to ARPAS-UK, Anne-Lise Scaillierez and everyone who came to talk.
