Why Delivery?

Access to goods for rural residents is car dependent: a delivery to multiple residents is much better than any individual person driving

Delivery in rural areas becomes sustainable when it eliminates unnecessary car journeys. Often, local collection points or shops don't align with the residents' schedules or routes, causing them to drive a 2-ton vehicle for merely a few kilos of goods.

Current delivery vehicles are primarily city-centric, ill-suited to the low volumes and unique challenges of rural regions. This mismatch leads to increased CO2 emissions per kilo transported, making deliveries environmentally detrimental.

The inefficiency extends to service access, with only 1 in 20 people managing to utilize a collection point. This gap forces residents to resort to driving, further amplifying the carbon footprint and inefficiencies. At IONA, we aim to rectify this by providing a sustainable, efficient, and accessible delivery solution for rural areas.
